Compliance & Risk Assurance Manager

Join us in second line assurance as a Compliance & Risk Assurance Manager

  • This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of protecting the bank and supporting with the design, development and assurance activity on an end-to-end basis
  • In this collaborative role, you’ll work with a number of risk and control teams to identify risks and address any identified gaps
  • You’ll be in a position to raise your profile across the bank by supporting management through providing assurance on key products and processes and the control environment, and hone your relationship management capabilities

What you'll do

You’ll be implementing an effective and efficient assurance function, meeting all policy standard owner, legal and regulatory requirements and expectations.

We’ll look to you to drive the development and improvement of assurance processes, procedures and scheduling methodology, making sure that the global methodology and supporting processes are consistent, up to date and fully aligned with the bank's policy framework, and any respective legal or regulatory requirements.

On top of this, you’ll be:

  • Working to improve and support the assurance toolset to support a robust process that develops the right outcomes for the organisation
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of an annual risk based assurance programme
  • Developing, implementing and supporting integrated system solutions that drive efficiency savings
  • Improving team and customer performance by actively driving the adoption of leadership and behavioural tools and techniques
  • Managing the team, making sure that all people processes and policies are adhered to, such as performance management, absence and leave

The skills you'll need

You’ll need excellent leadership and communication skills as you’ll be building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the bank, developing and using these networks across internal and external organisations.

A background in assurance and risk management methodologies will be required, as will a good understanding of the application of operational risk in a financial services environment.

You’ll also bring:

  • Demonstrable experience of driving a team to succeed by meeting and delivering targets within outlined timescales
  • Experience of operating in an audit, assurance or risk function
  • Experience of developing relationships with stakeholders and building positive working relationships
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • The ability to influence at all levels
