The Requirements

We're hiring a Prudential Non-Financial Risk Lead to join our Compliance team in Dublin

  • This is a chance to join a recently established function, lead out on the early implementation of a compliance risk management framework, and be at the forefront of embedding prudential regulation into the bank's operating model

What you'll do

You'll be tasked with considering our key areas of non-financial prudential risk exposure, covering operational risk such as outsourcing, data management, business and technology resilience, change management, and corporate governance requirements, as well as assessing whether the business is meeting its regulatory obligations in these areas.

You'll implement a regulatory rule mapping capability to identify and embed prudential regulatory requirements into our operating model. You'll also be a key source of advice to the business and to policy owners on interpreting new and existing prudential regulation, and how effectively business policies reflect them.

Other key aspects of your role will include:

  • Defining and agreeing a series of critical actions and deliverables with the relevant first and second line teams
  • Reviewing the outcomes of second line risk assessments, and challenging policy and procedures on its compliance to regulatory requirements 
  • Providing regulatory advice and making focused decisions on new regulatory requirements which are commercial, and considering the needs of business stakeholders
  • Agreeing assurance requirements with the Assurance team, contributing to developing annual oversight plans and taking part in certain reviews
  • Underpinning a supervisory risk evaluation programme response plan which allows the bank to demonstrate tangible progress in meeting regulator expectations

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with deep experience in financial services operational risk, corporate governance or compliance roles, with practical and technical knowledge in prudential risk regulation, and its application in policy frameworks. Experience of developing and implementing policy frameworks for non financial risks would be ideal, but practical experience overseeing or advising financial institutions in a prudential advisory or consultancy capacity would be a welcome alternative. We'll also expect a relevant compliance or risk or accountancy or legal qualification.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience of representing an organisation in industry groups or in engagements with the regulator
  • The proven ability to work in partnership with businesses, while maintaining an independent perspective
  • The ability to effectively review and challenge, focusing on solutions at a senior level
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
