The Requirements

Join us in Dublin as Head of Audit

  • If you're an experienced internal audit professional with a wealth of financial services industry knowledge, this role offers an opportunity to play a major part in a high profile area of the bank
  • You'll be providing independent assurance and contributing to the delivery of internal audit responsibilities through designing an effective audit strategy and facilitating its delivery
  • This role offers the chance to be recognised by stakeholders as an influential partner, and to champion and support the delivery of Internal Audit’s aim to keep the bank and our customers safe

What you'll do

As Head of Audit, you'll be accountable for delivering a flexible and risk based audit plan that provides independent assurance and opinions with impact. You'll be reviewing and approving all audit deliverables for coverage, quality and positioning, and you'll be ensuring the efficient delivery of the audit plan.

We'll look to you to be a strategic leader, building capability and driving a high performance culture. You'll also act and be seen as the Internal Audit key representative for senior stakeholders within your audits and business entity.

You'll also be:

  • Producing entity reports and opinions which successfully influence executive management to manage risk prudently within the bank’s or board risk appetite
  • Making sure effective continuous monitoring is undertaken in support of entity assurance and planning
  • Effectively recruiting and managing the performance of the extended team, driving their career development
  • Responsible for making sure that all engagements comply with global methodology and leveraging the tools available
  • Making sure that the strategic and operational risks across your business entity are sufficiently understood in order that an appropriate audit plan can be built and delivered
  • Making sure that engagements across your business entity are delivered to budget and on time, thereby ensuring maximum productivity of your resources to deliver audit assurance

The skills you'll need

We're looking for a strong people leader, with evidence of people leadership and the ability to coach and drive delivery. You'll need to be change ready with a proven track record in audit. Experience of dealing with or facing off to regulators would be advantageous, due to the regulatory aspects of the role.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Knowledge about the relevant business areas, products and related risks within a complex financial services organisation
  • An understanding of the regulatory requirements relating to the business areas and products and the Audit function
  • A good understanding of risk management, the control framework, and governance processes in order to identify any control weaknesses and provide ongoing assurance
