Join us in Belfast or Dublin as a Risk & Control Manager in Customer Experience & Products

  • We're looking for a determined individual with expertise in managing operational, conduct and regulatory risk to join us as a Risk & Control Manager, where you'll be at the heart of a team dedicated to providing optimum levels of risk management support to the First Line business

What you'll do

Joining our Conduct & Controls team within Customer Experience & Products (CE&P), you'll be delivering and maintaining a robust First Line of Defense (FLOD) risk and control framework for CE&P whilst working closely with the second line of defence. You’ll be identifying, assessing and monitoring operational, conduct and regulatory risks and developing and maintaining key risk controls, leading assurance testing and driving an improved risk culture in CE&P.

Along with this, you'll also:

  • Oversee, manage and supervise the risks which exist in the business area, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, manage and mitigate risk within a defined Risk Appetite
  • Proactively identify and effectively manage or escalate operational and conduct risk to deliver fair customer outcomes
  • Lead engagement with central assurance team in line with the agreed UBIDAC FLOD assurance methodology to ensure adequate controls testing is performed 
  • Support AE & RCA lead in undertaking E2E risk assessments with ongoing support on monitoring and reporting

The skills you'll need

Alongside appropriate risk management you'll be committed to putting the customer at the forefront of your decisions. To be successful in this role, a risk related accreditation would be preferable, or a willingness to work towards one. You’ll have strong working knowledge of the CE&P business area and the activities they undertake, and a proven track record of managing risk and control in a FLOD business.

You'll also have strong knowledge of ORM methodologies, principles and systems coupled with a solid understanding of the relevant Ulster Bank regulations and legislation that are applicable to your area.

We'll also expect you to have:

  • Established people management skills and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders up to senior level
  • Strong scheduling and planning skills, allowing you to manage multiple competing activities
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage high profile issues
