Compliance Control Manager

The Business

Join us in Central Park, Dublin or Belfast as a Compliance Control Manager

  • This role will see you building your leadership skills and deepening your understanding of risk, while ensuring that the Compliance function in operating in a controlled and efficient manner
  • You'll develop, monitor and report on the Compliance function CEC roadmap, and you'll gain great exposure to senior management
  • You'll play a leading role in the development and maintenance of an adequate, effective and sustainable control environment within the Compliance function

What you'll do

Reporting to the Head of Compliance and Risk Assurance, you'll be responsible for delivering and reporting on the Compliance function CEC roadmap. You'll also embed the operational risk management framework within Compliance, as part of a first line of defence control function.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting compliance risk and control assessments
  • Monitoring and reporting on the Compliance function's compliance with the Operational Risk Policy and handbook, including issues management and reporting, SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls, and supporting policies 
  • Conducting workshops as required to identify risks
  • Leading the coordination and completion of the Half Yearly Control Environment Certificate
  • Ensuring an effective assurance testing programme is maintained while overseeing the development of the risk assessment for the Compliance function
  • Ensuring the frequent review of the ORBIT Risk Log, carrying out regular quality assessments

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with an in-depth knowledge of first line of defence risk identification and risk management techniques. Along with excellent analytical and problem identification and solving skills, you'll have the confidence to engage at executive level across the bank. You'll also have experience leading and developing a team, and the ability to work across functions to bring people towards a common goal.

As well as this, you'll demonstrate:

  • Strong managerial skills
  • Knowledge of the external environment including economic, regulatory and legal practices, trends and expected developments
  • An understanding of the business implications of risk operations decisions
  • General knowledge of risk disciplines including credit risk, operational risk, regulatory risk and market risk
  • An understanding of methods used in the review, analysis and forecasting of resources and capacity planning
