Finance Manager

The Requirements

We're looking for a Finance Manager to join us in Dublin

  • We'll look to you to provide key support to our Finance function within Ulster Bank Ireland
  • You'll gain wide exposure to stakeholders across the bank, as you build a strong working relationship with key interfaces in Finance, and across the programme
  • This role is offered on a 6 month basis

What you'll do

We'll look to you to provide financial insight and decision support that adds value to our business and our customers. You'll actively support the finance business partner with responsibility for oversight of the programme spend with the provision of timely, reliable and insightful financial analysis that will drive financial performance discussions for the remediation projects. You'll also review, analyse and challenge project spend with budget owners

As well as this, your role will include:

  • Reviewing actual and forecast spend across the project, to identify and present cost management options to business contacts
  • Undertaking spend reviews and detailed analyses on a monthly basis of all resource and non resource costs, including analysis of prior month verses current month resources and associated costs
  • Building an understanding of the customer redress aspects of the programme, and providing financial models of the impacts and on-going tracking of the outputs and payments
  • Reviewing and supporting the development of financial models, to track the execution spend and remediation spends on the programme
  • Monthly reporting analysis reporting to the Ulster Bank finance director and programme board
  • Providing robust commentary and analysis to where necessary to enhance MI
  • Liaising with the programme senior management to ensure that robust budgets and business cases with appropriate detail are in place for each work stream and the overall programme

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with experience analysing financial data, able to inform and help the decision making process. You'll need to be a qualified accountant with an ACA, CIMA or ACCA, and a proven ability to interact with executives and senior management.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards
  • Familiarity with high-level business drivers to enable suitable challenge to the business of any apparent inconsistencies
  • An ability to work within a team and to deliver high quality outputs to tight timescales
  • A strong commercial focus and practical problem solving ability
  • The ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders including our finance leadership team
  • Project management experience, with strong planning and organisation skills

Lean or continuous improvement methodology knowledge is desirable, as is a working knowledge of the banks finance systems, INEA, Oracle Cost Management, or Hyperion.
