Head of Business & Performance Management

The Business

Join us as Head of Performance Management in Dublin or Belfast

  • Technology is a critical function in delivering the bank’s core capability and you’ll be responsible for overseeing all technology consumed by UBI DAC and managing the Technology Risk profile for the Bank
  • You'll act as a key influencer by ensuring Ulster Bank’s strategic priorities are prioritised within RBS Technology Services
  • You'll lead the development of the enterprise architecture including business, technical and infrastructure architecture, and establishing and operating a Centre of Excellence to enhance the business strategy
  • You’ll also enjoy significant stakeholder engagement and exposure to all areas of the bank and work collaboratively with RBS

What you'll do

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you'll be responsible for overseeing all technology consumed by UBI DAC, from a service management, resilience and architecture perspective, to ensure they deliver outcomes that support the Bank’s strategic goals.

Your responsibilities are split into four subcategories:

Technology Service Management:

  • Accountable for monitoring and challenging the service provision from the bank’s technology providers to ensure system availability and functionality for both customers and the business are maximised
  • You'll lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles and frameworks to guide information, technology, and solution decision making for the bank

Technology Resilience & Continuity:

  • You'll be responsible for ensuring essential business activities can be recovered and continued in the event of a business interruption, by ensuring adequate processes, documentation, facilities, and systems are in place

Technology Architecture:

  • You'll lead the development of the enterprise architecture including business, technical and Infrastructure architecture, as well as promoting and communicating its progress, outcomes and results to relevant stakeholders
  • You'll develop and implement the strategic technology roadmap to support UBI DAC deliver the annual strategy and investment plan

Standard Risk Management:

  • You'll comply with Our Code, all RBS policies, ‘How we manage RBS’, and if applicable ‘How we manage our Business’, and deliver against all relevant statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations
  • You'll proactively identify, manage and escalate conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes

The skills you'll need

You'll need a strong technical background with experience in infrastructure solution design and detailed planning and implementation. You'll also need experience in the management of outsourced technology services in a Financial Services institution.

You should also have:

  • Project management experience of large scale complex technology change programmes
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to present and influence at all levels within the organisation and externally as required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Formal Technology, IT Governance and service management certifications such  NIST Framework, ISO27001, ITIL, COBIT, or Togaf
