Chief Information Office Portfolio Manager

The Requirements

We're looking for a Chief Information Office Portfolio Manager to join us in Belfast or Dublin

  • Reporting to the Head of Business & Performance Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the leadership team to deliver the Ulster Bank Chief Information Office business strategy, aligned to the bank-wide policy and business frameworks
  • You’ll be accountable for the coordination, governance and control of annual and ad hoc technology regulatory returns, for coordinating associated redress plans, and for owning the Ulster Bank Ireland technology budget
  • Technology is a critical function in delivering the bank’s core capability and you’ll be responsible for supporting the leadership team to understand the technology portfolio and associated benefit to deliver the UBI DAC CIO business strategy
  • You'll act as a key influencer by ensuring Ulster Bank’s strategic priorities are prioritised within RBS Technology Services, and will enjoy significant stakeholder engagement and exposure to all areas of the bank

What you'll do

You'll work in partnership with areas across the bank in the planning and management of business support activities, new initiatives, projects or processes throughout the business area, ensuring the consistent application of best practices and processes.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Be accountable for the coordination, governance and control of priority deliverables, such as technology regulatory returns
  • Be responsible for overseeing and reporting on the Technology Global Change portfolio and transformation initiatives impacting the business
  • Conduct regular reviews of the investment and change portfolio, challenge the technology costs, and influence decision making about portfolio priorities
  • Understand business and project risks and how they may impact the technology portfolio
  • Build, manage and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders across Ulster Bank, RBS and Technology Services
  • Oversee the Ulster Bank budget and ensure delivery in line with expectations
  • Be accountable for budget and headcount reporting

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll bring project management experience of technology transformation programmes, and knowledge of regulation in the financial services industry as it relate to technology.

You'll also bring:

  • Formal technology, IT governance and service management certifications, such as ITIL
  • Evidence of strong leadership skills in developing and implementing successful business initiatives within a complex environment, and achieving tangible and sustainable results
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present and influence at all levels within the organisation and externally as required
  • Knowledge of risk management appropriate to a financial services institution
  • A proven history of building effective relationships with multiple senior stakeholders across multiple business report lines
