Application Architect

The Requirements

Join us in Belfast or Dublin as an Application Architect

  • You'll be responsible for the creation and communication of application architectures - current, resultant and target states - and roadmaps for a given programme, business function or enterprise within RBS
  • Partner with a range of stakeholders to ensure the application architecture and roadmaps are defined, maintained, communicated and used
  • Technology is a critical function in delivering the bank's core capability and you'll be responsible for enabling UBI DAC to understand the technology that the bank consumes, and associated business requirements
  • You'll lead the development of the enterprise architecture including business, technical and infrastructure architecture, and establishing an operating a centre of excellence
  • Benefit from significant stakeholder engagement and exposure to all areas of the bank

What you'll do

In this role you'll hold a unique position with UBI DAC where you'll understand the technical complexities of the bank's application architecture, and also work closely with the business to support the bank's priorities.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Maintain repository of UBI DAC specific architecture models and roadmaps of application software components to meet business and technical requirements
  • Manage the UBI DAC asset inventory, application architecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcomes
  • Define and manage multi-year roadmaps for applications
  • Translate application roadmaps into packages of work to be included in project plans, in line with change methodology
  • Assure the implementation of the application architecture outcomes to ensure that the design and delivered components are in line with the defined application architecture
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple franchises and functions to help them understand and support the architectural changes required to satisfy the business and bank-wide outcomes

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll have experience of the industry architecture framework, TOGAF.

We'll also look to you to bring:

  • Experience of change framework and architecture methods, including defining application architectures and roadmaps for complex enterprise systems
  • Knowledge and skills relating to working with technology vendors and products within the market
  • Experience of systems development best practices and approaches including, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Model Driven Development, and APIs
  • The ability to develop, syndicate and communicate architectures, designs and proposals for actions
