  • This high profile role will see you owning, transforming and driving a strategy to grow our mortgage business in the Republic of Ireland
  • You'll lead the Home Buying & Ownership (HBO) business to deliver long term sustainable value and positive customer outcomes
  • Sitting within our Personal Banking leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to really make an impact while enjoying considerable variety and stakeholder interaction at the most senior levels
  • While the role is primarily Dublin based, you'll have the flexibility to work from other locations and at home should you wish

What you'll do

We'll look to you to own the end to end mortgage customer journey, from strategy to sales, shaping transformation of the business, and delivering on ambitious growth plans. You'll have P&L accountability for all mortgage sales, and will be responsible for defining and ensuring delivery of business transformation for HBO, working closely with the Personal Banking management team, and reporting to the MD of Personal Banking.

You'll also:

  • Provide the HBO team with leadership and direction, delivering exceptional staff engagement and development, and ensuring excellent customer service and outcomes for customers financing their home
  • Ensure the execution of plans for products and services in each channel, aligned with the business's goals
  • Lead the embedding of planned programmes to deliver the overall distribution strategy for the HBO business, helping to achieve the business's strategic objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure proactive and collaborative engagement with stakeholders across both Ulster Bank and RBS to drive delivery of mortgages plans

The skills you'll need

We're looking for an experienced senior leader preferably with substantial working knowledge of the Irish mortgage market, and the services that sit behind it.

Along with a comprehensive understanding of the consumer financial services sector, specifically Personal Banking distribution, product management and customer service excellence, you'll have a well developed knowledge of mortgages in the Republic of Ireland regulated market.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to simplify complex and conflicting tasks and policy positions, ensuring that these are effectively managed and communicated
  • Evidence of strong leadership and people management skills, and the ability to effectively influence senior executives and external stakeholders
  • Experience of delivering on ambitious income and cost line delivery plans
  • An understanding of mortgage credit, operational risk appetite and key controls management processes, as well as the economics of mortgage lending
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
