The Requirements

Join us in Belfast or Dublin as Head of AML Controls

  • In this high profile role, you'll be engaging with Ulster Bank Ireland and RBS ExCo, Board members and the Regulator 
  • The work you do will be instrumental to defining the Anti Money Laundering (AML) strategy for Ulster Bank Ireland 
  • This is an opportunity to use this role as a platform to become an AML expert within the industry
  • You'll enjoy a broad scope of responsibility, and due to the continuously changing AML threat, this role is ever evolving and stimulating

What you'll do

Primarily, you'll be providing coordination, custodianship and governance services to underpin effective management of AML risk for Ulster Bank.

This will involve:

  • Coordinating the production and management of AML risk assessments and maintaining an evidence library in support of the risk assessments
  • Providing custodianship of the AML Operating Model
  • Managing AML process maintenance to include end-to-end process documentation, the coordination of impact assessments and process change governance
  • Coordinating AML training requirements 
  • Leading and providing secretariat services to key AML governance forums

The skills you'll need

Essentially, you'll need first class knowledge of all current regulatory and legislative requirements, industry guidance and case law pertaining to AML, together with a wide and deep knowledge of financial crime in general.

A recognised professional AML qualification, such as DipAML or ACAMS, would be highly desirable.

We'll also be looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a senior AML operational role within a major global financial services firm
  • Expert knowledge of AML issues and the regulatory and legislative landscape relating to AML
  • Specialist knowledge of regulatory risk management reporting processes and requirements
  • Previous experience of AML strategy writing and the delivery of change
  • Significant experience of senior stakeholder management
